Morning arrived gently, like a quiet blessing after the exhaustion of the past few days. The early sunlight filtered softly through the balcony glass, slipping into the room in warm golden streaks. Nishi stirred beneath her blanket, shifting lazily as if trying to hold on to the last pieces of sleep. Her body felt rested for the first time in days, yet the comfort of the bed made leaving it feel like an unnecessary task. With a slow stretch and a long, sleepy yawn, she pushed herself up and sat against the headboard, her eyes still closed as she tried to gather the energy to face the day. The sunlight brushed against her face, warm and persistent, making her scrunch her nose slightly as if silently protesting the morningβs arrival.
